So Run

Today’s Encouragement is, “But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.”1 Timothy 6:11 NLT

So Run! –

Run from all these evil things! Which evil things? All of them!  (See the previous verses for more specifics.)

As we seek to grow in Faith, doing what we can to draw closer to God, to hear His voice, and to serve Him and please Him, He will gradually reveal new truths that will lead us deeper into our relationship with Him.

Too often, we tolerate evil, allowing it to have a ‘tiny’ spot in our lives.  But God is kind and patient, so He frequently reminds us of the evil we allow ourselves, not to condemn us, for there is no condemnation for us (Romans 8:1), but to help us to become free of evil, to run from it, so that we truly can – “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.”

This ‘tolerated evil’ often becomes addiction.  And addiction becomes our idol, our god.  Help is available, and God is prompting and encouraging us to Run!  Break free! Refuse to surrender to temptation!

Whatever evil you are thinking of, that is what God is prompting you to Run from.

So Run! Decide now. Choose today, by Faith, with God’s help (“We can do all things through Christ.” Philippians 4:8), to Run!  Ask for help! And Pray!  God wants us to be Free!

Thank You, Father, for the privilege of being Yours! Show us who we can become when we are free from the evil we have tolerated for so long!  We ask in Jesus’ Name.

Slave to Nothing
