Argued With The Lord

Today’s Encouragement is, “But Moses argued with the LORD, saying, ‘I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?” Exodus 6:30 NLT

Argued With The Lord –

God clearly called Moses to go to Egypt to set His people free; He used a burning bush and other miracles. Yet, repeatedly, Moses raised this argument with God!  “I’m such a clumsy speaker!”  We do that, don’t we? We say, “Yes, but…” to God when He prompts us to do or say something.

Please notice that God never ‘lost patience’ with him; He still doesn’t lose patience with us.  Because He is perfect, His patience is an inherent feature of His nature.  He doesn’t lose His temper or patience at any time or with anyone! His emotions do not control him.

We are like Him, but He is not like us!  Our human traits, including our emotions, are similar to His, but we are flawed, imperfect, and stained by our human sinful nature.  Yet every aspect of our God is perfect.

When we argue with Him, we are way off base, as Moses was.  Yet like Moses, we can continue to obey Him, choosing obedience over rebellion, trust over doubt, and surrender over argument.

And as we do, God moves forward with His Perfect Plan.  Not oblivious to our arguments, but unaffected, undeterred by our human weaknesses.

Thank You, Father, that You see, hear, and understand us, and still Love us, forgive us, even forgetting our failures and faults, and You will still use us to accomplish Your Good plans for Your people (Jeremiah 29:11).
