Today’s Encouragement is, “So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11 NLT
All The Good Things –
We heard it many times before: God is for us! We need to hear it repeatedly, however, possibly because it seems too good to be true! God loves us, He cares about us, He knows us perfectly and yet still wants us to be His own chosen and adopted sons and daughters.
And here is yet another amazing Truth about how deeply He cares for us. Our Faith prompts us to do good things – our sinful nature tempts us to do bad things! We know that all too clearly! But in complete contrast, we are led by the Spirit of God, which lives within us, to do God’s will, all the good things that He prompts us to do by faith!
These Faith-prompted efforts are always in line with the wisdom of scripture, and because they are faith-in-God-initiated, He obviously wants to help us accomplish them.
It requires His power! The good things of faith are His idea, not ours, and He really wants us to accomplish them!
So, we don’t need to plead with Him for the things He wants to give! Nor do we need to continue asking for what He has already given. Perhaps we need to accept, by Faith, what He has given, and act in faith!
Lord God, we depend on You for everything. We need Your power to do “all the good things which our faith prompts us to do.”
