God Chose –
What we think about is essential. Our perspective, beliefs, opinions, and ideas are the fuel that directs our lives.
Hopefully, you are already aware of many of the truths of God’s Word, and these eternal principles are deeply rooted in your faith, heart, mind, and life. This devotional is designed to encourage you to hold fast to your faith, persevere in hope, and find rest in trusting Jesus. He has already saved all who trust in Him.
Today’s passage is one such important principle. God is not angry at you! He chose to demonstrate His perfect Love for us through Jesus! So why would He now punish our every sin with suffering and pain, in anger? He is unchanging; His ‘moods’ don’t rule Him. But His character, His nature, His essence, is Love!
Some folks may think that each time something bad happens, great or small, God is punishing them. It just isn’t true! It cannot be true! Why? First, Because He is Love. (1 John 4:8) Second, Jesus died to make us right with God. (Romans 3:22) Third, He has forgiven and forgotten all our sin! (Hebrews 10:17)
Finally, it was God’s Choice! He chose you, and He chose to provide everything you need for abundant, eternal life! He will never pour out His anger on us, because, my friend, He has already done that – on Jesus! Once for all.
Thank You, Father, for choosing to save us! Help us to believe Your Truth and Your perfect Love!
