Today’s Encouragement is, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:6 NLT
All the Days –
Sometimes, believers are taught that the blessings which God promises to His people are “a maybe” for this life and are really assured only for our eternal life. As if God intends to bless us ‘when we all get to Heaven’ but not so much in this earthly portion of our existence.
Hopefully, this lie is obvious to us. Of course, all Christians experience great hardship and sorrow in life. Jesus told us we will have troubles in this life (John 16:33).
However, in Psalm 23, God reveals His intention and design for us. He begins in verse 1, describing Himself as our shepherd! He provides, guides, and cares for us as His own dearly loved and very needy people.
And in this final verse, He summarizes His care plan for us. We can be confident when He says, “Surely!” There’s no doubt. These blessings, His goodness and love, are with us, and assured, all the days of our lives! Not a future ’someday’ and not ‘If you are good enough.’
When we choose to believe Him and trust His Word, we begin to see and experience that His promises are all true and are our reality today. We decide to trust Him for everything, or not.
Thank You, Father God, for giving us Your Truth, Provision, and Love, and for granting each human life the choice to accept You or reject You. We gratefully choose to accept You and all of Your Truth!
