My Cup Overflows

Today’s Encouragement is, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.” Psalm 23:5 NLT

My Cup Overflows –

When God provides for us, in abundance!  He fills our cup to overflowing!   He doesn’t do this to ‘spoil’ us, to make us wealthy, greedy, and snobbish.  He does this to demonstrate His immeasurable love for His own people.

At God’s table, prepared just for you, there is food and drink in abundance (no need to count calories!), and the cup He gives us?  He fills it till it overflows!

Why overflowing?  Is it possible that He wants to demonstrate His generosity, that, as we realize we have been given much more than we can even contain, we can then be generous to those in need?  “We love others because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

There are times when our cup seems empty, we’re broke, bills are piling up, and enemies are pounding at the door. Life happens to all people, including believers; illness, setbacks, and loss are universal. But God’s truth is still eternal and predominant.  His blessings, honor, and abundant provision are spiritual truths that are now and forever ours!  Our earthly circumstances may challenge, but cannot negate God’s Truth!

Thank You, Father, that our faith is not built on our human senses, what we see, hear, or feel; our faith is built on You: God our Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Help us believe in all Your wonderful promises.
