Keep On

Today’s Encouragement is, “And so I tell you, Keep On asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep On seeking, and you will find. Keep On knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:9 NLT

Keep On – 

The disciples asked Jesus (v1) ‘Lord, teach us to pray.’ And he taught them the Lord’s Prayer… then immediately He relates a parable about being persistent, consistent, determined, and dedicated in asking and praying for what you need. And summarizes in v9-10, “Keep On!”

It seems almost impudent, rude, demanding, the way the parable reads… and yet He then clearly instructs us – ‘Keep On!’ 

Friends, Jesus clearly taught us that God responds when we Keep On and don’t give up!

We too often give our prayers one shot and then we move on – in the next breath to another prayer need, then another. The next day, we have new prayer needs!  Now, of course, God does not get tired of hearing our prayers! He is not a human who has a short fuse or limited patience… He is Love; our Kind, Patient, Perfect, Almighty Heavenly Father (there aren’t enough words to describe Him!)

The ‘when’ is up to Him, it may be Moments, Days, Years, Decades, a lifetime… but all time is the same to our God… so we just trust Him, He knows the absolute best way and best time to answer! 

Thank You Father God for the privilege of Prayer.  Asking, seeking, and knocking in faith, with hope and confidence that You hear us, and You will answer us as You know best. We choose to trust in You.
