Today’s Encouragement is, “And it is impossible to please God without faith.” Hebrews 11:6a NLT
To Please God –
Since it is impossible without faith to please God, is it possible – with faith – to please Him?
The Bible talks of God being pleased in several other ways: by spiritual sacrifice (1 Peter 2:5), worship (Hebrews 12:28), and serving Christ (Romans 14:8). So, it must be possible for us who are His children to please God!
We can readily accept that God was pleased with Jesus; He even said so! “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17b ESV
Bear with me. God said He was pleased with Jesus when He was baptized. Before Jesus did or said anything else, before miracles, preaching, and laying down His very life to save you and me. Because of His baptism, yes, but primarily because He was His own Son!
Here’s the astounding thing! We are too! We are His sons and daughters (John 1:12)! And we have faith! (Maybe it’s not as much as we think it should be, but we do have some!)
So is it possible, my friend, that:
God
Is
Pleased
With
You and me?
Could it be that your perfect, loving Heavenly Father actually smiles when He sees and thinks of you? Because you are His!
Our God and Father, we can accept by faith that You love us, provide for us, and even forgive us. We struggle with all this at times, but we still want to believe it.
But the idea (the truth!) that You are pleased with us… is just too wonderful for us.
Thank You, that because of Jesus, You are pleased with us!
