Today’s Encouragement is, “The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” Psalm 23:1 NLT
My Shepherd –
A shepherd cares for every need of His sheep; they are entirely dependent on Him for food, water, protection, and life itself. Sheep are defenseless, passive, trusting animals. They need a protector for their entire lives. That protector is the shepherd.
Now, consider, have you ever heard of a worried, anxious sheep? They have complete trust in their shepherd. We might say they don’t know any better, and perhaps it’s true, but certainly some sheep wander off from the rest, looking for greener pastures, and thinking maybe they know better than the shepherd what they need… These wandering ones (which many of us have been at times!) often experience significant trouble, danger, sorrows, hunger, and thirst when they wander away from the shepherd. Yet Our Shepherd is always ready to welcome back the wandering sheep; in fact, He goes looking for them (Luke 15:4)!
We can all experience the peace, restoration, relaxation, contentment, refreshment, renewal of our lives, bodies, minds, souls when we recognize Jesus as our Shepherd, the One who provides our every need!
Thank You Father, for Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who loves us and cares for us, and provides us with all that we need.
You Never Let Go
