Today’s Encouragement is, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 NLT
All Your Needs –
From a human perspective, we associate dependence with weakness. “He’s still dependent on his parents for financial support,” “she’s co-dependent with her mom”, or “I think I have become dependent on my medications.” Almost all references to the use of the concept of dependence are negative. And we generally become mature as human beings as we become less dependent on others. We want to supply all our own needs! Or worse, we want or expect someone else to supply all our needs!
But God’s perspective is the opposite! He is Truth and He is Eternal. We can question Him, doubt Him, disagree, and argue, but He isn’t deterred or dissuaded.
And God says:
He will never fail us or abandon us. (Hebrews 13:5b)
Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but we can do all things through Christ, who gives us Strength. (Phil 4:13)
Call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you. (Psalm 50:15)
He is our helper and our savior. (Psalm 40:17b)
My friend, God is our eternal, saving, protecting, guiding, providing, sustaining, strengthening, and loving Father.
And Jesus is Immanuel – God With Us.
We are created to be dependent upon Him forever. We grow more mature as our relationship with Him grows stronger and deeper! And He will provide all our needs!
Father, help us to realize the depth of our need for a continuous relationship with You. And help us to be grateful for who You are and all that You do for us, throughout eternity.
Psalm 121
