Today’s Encouragement is, “But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 NLT
Understand What The Spirit Means –
This is hard to grasp. We live in a concrete, tangible, and physical world. We have five powerful senses that allow us to function well within this physical world. Including sight, and what we see seems to dominate our minds. “I’ll have to see it to believe it.” We also have emotions and feelings that have a great influence over our lives.
But God is Spirit (John 4:24). He exists far above and beyond this physical realm, beyond our sight and senses. And He rules All! Including this seen physical world and the unseen, spiritual world that is just as real, and is eternal. And if there is anything else besides the seen and the unseen… He is Lord over that also!
This verse states that Spiritual things make no sense to the unspiritual person, but, my friend, we have been given His Spirit! (Romans 8:11) We are now spiritual beings. Human, yet still filled with the same Holy Spirit as Jesus Christ!
Yes, we are not God; we are clearly flawed humans, and yet, we now have God’s gift of His Spirit, which leads, guides, and speaks within us. He is beyond our senses, emotions, or any other human limitations.
Father, we are baffled by the very idea of Your Spirit living within us. But by faith we accept it. Please help us to rest in Your Holy Spirit’s guidance, strength, peace, and wisdom.
