Today’s Encouragement is, “You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11 ESV
To Be Generous –
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? “You will be enriched in every way!” “Yes, please!” This is a promise, with no preceding qualifying requirement.
We are all enriched, in every way, for a purpose… to be generous!
Our enrichment in every way can be in faith, encouragement, compassion, finances, and God’s Love… And there’s a reason for this! All our enrichment blessings come from God and are for the same purpose… “to be generous in every way!”
Don’t ‘feel’ enriched? Remember the woman who gave all she had, two small coins? (Mark 12:42-43) Jesus praised her generosity! Also, just a cup of water, given in love, has a reward (Matthew 10:42). We all are, and we will be enriched!
Additionally, we receive blessings from God for His good purpose, and that is generosity – giving to others freely, from what He has given to us. That is His purpose.
He doesn’t bless and enrich us only to give us a comfortable, fulfilling life on earth. That does happen, but He doesn’t stop there! He wants us to love others as He has first loved us (1 John 4:19), to give as freely as we have received (Matthew 10:8), to forgive others as we have been forgiven (Ephesians 4:32), and to comfort others with the comfort we have received (2 Corinthians 1:4).
Thank You, Lord, for enriching us in every way so that we can enrich others, and that this will result in grateful thanksgiving to You!
