Today’s Encouragement is, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” Numbers 23:19 NLT
God Is Not A Man –
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.’ Isaiah 55:8 NLT
We make a huge mistake when we assume that God is just like us. That He has our same human thoughts, ways, emotions, or reactions.
Consider Jesus. He was the perfect example of God to us. In John 14:9, He said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” He is also the perfect example of a perfect person. He was both God and Man.
He embodied the nature, character, and attributes of our Father God at all times. Did He ever lie, change his mind, speak and fail to act, or promise and not deliver?
You might think, “Yes, but God gets angry; He destroyed people, even nations, in His anger.” This is true, but remember, “His ways are not our ways.” His anger is different than ours because it is perfect; it is not at all like our anger, our out-of-control, self-destructive rage! His Anger, like all of Him, is Perfect. “He is not a man.”
God, thank You that You have clearly and carefully explained to us who You are, through the Bible and through the Life of Jesus. That Your ways are high above our ways. You are Pure and Perfect in all that You do and speak. Help us gain a clear understanding of your nature by looking to Jesus.
His Strength Is Perfect
