I Will Carry You

Today’s Encouragement is, “I will be your God throughout your lifetime- until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:4 NLT

I Will Carry You –

In Isaiah 46, God describes how people create their own idols, their own concept of God. During that time, they often created images of gold, silver, or wood and formed them into representations of the gods they imagined or believed in.  They carried their idols, these heavy burdens, on their animals (v 1).

But God says, “You don’t carry Me, I am the One who carries you!”

My friend, still today, we create our own concepts of God, not with silver or gold, but with our own limited knowledge and understanding.  We say things like, “Well, to me, God is…”  or “I think God is like…”  We create our own concept of God and carry it around.

But we KNOW what God is like.  He is clearly described in His book!  Jesus, His Son, reflects Him perfectly, and He is Love!

Any other concept, description, definition, or image, physical or mental, is woefully inadequate for Him!

And because He is God (and we ain’t!) He carries his people! We are His burden. He is not a heavy burden for us to carry!  Jesus told us in Matthew 11:30, “For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Thank You, Father God, that You carry us; we admit we cannot carry You!  Help us to abandon the idols we may try to carry, for they are heavy burdens for us.  You carry us, always, because Jesus died for us, and You love us.

I Will Carry You
