Today’s Encouragement is, “Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:30 NLT
Because of Your Love –
Paul urges, even pleads with his brothers and sisters in the Name of Jesus, to pray for him! He really wanted their prayers! He then reminds them of how greatly they love him, a love given to them by the Holy Spirit.
As if he said, “Because God’s Holy Spirit has given you such love for me, please pray for me, and then you will be joining me, helping me in my struggle!
Friend, our love for others stems from either our selfish desires or God’s Spirit; there are no other options. “We love each other, because He loved us first!” (1 John 4:19)
This God-given love causes us to desire His best for others, to care about them in the purest sense. And the most perfect way to care for another person is to pray for them, to join them in their struggle, to come alongside them spiritually to help them bear their burdens.
Again, the most excellent way to express and live out this God-given Love for others is to pray for them!
Thank You, our Good and Loving Father, for the precious gift of Your Love. Help us to pour out this love to You and to others, because as You have first poured out Your Love into us!
