Today’s Encouragement is, “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NLT
Do Everything With Love –
In these closing words of his letter to the believers in Corinth, Paul reflects on his earlier extensive message about Love (chapter 13). He puts everything under the umbrella of Love.
Be on guard – with Love
Stand firm in Faith – with Love
Be Courageous – with Love
Be Strong – with Love
We often wonder, “Should I… do or say this or that?” Here’s a clear answer, an ideal test for every action or statement. “Is it Love? Is this a clear expression of God’s Love? Or is it my love, my emotion, fear, desire, or need?” Of course, we recognize that Love should be our highest goal, should be our strongest characteristic, but we think, “But sometimes I need to… do or say something else.”
Well, my friend, whatever that “something else” may be, it isn’t God’s best for you. It might feel like the right idea; others may even tell you to go for it, and your emotions may be screaming at you to do it.
But is it living out God’s Love?
Do Everything with Love! This is being on guard, standing firm, and being courageous and strong!
Father, as always, we need Your power and grace in our lives to live up to Your Truth and Your ways. We long to be the people that You call us to be. Help us to do everything in Your Love. We pray in Jesus’ Name.
Jesus, I Need You In Everything I Do
