Your Highest Goal

Today’s Encouragement is, “Let love be your highest goal!” 1 Corinthians 14:1a NLT

Your Highest Goal –

We’ve seen that:

God is Love.

The greatest thing in the World is Love.

Love forgives and forgets.

Love is patient and kind.

We are to Love God and others.

And we are nothing without Love.

So, shouldn’t Love be our highest goal?

What goal would be better? What could compete with Love?

This is God’s Perfect Love, selfless, forgiving, kind, and patient.  Jesus exhibited this Love perfectly and consistently.

Remember that Peter denied knowing Him three times on the night He was arrested, and this was only a few moments after he swore that he would never deny Him!  But Jesus never spoke a single word of rebuke to his friend; instead, He asked Peter, “Do you love me?”

The denial, betrayal, and abandonment didn’t matter; only Peter’s Love mattered to Jesus.

Because Love is the Highest Goal.  We are known by our love or lack of Love; in fact, it is our truest identity!  God offers us His Love and invites us to live within His Love.

Father, we do nothing perfectly, but we realize our desperate need for Your Perfect Love.  Help us to accept it and then express and reflect it back to You and to the world.
