Today’s Encouragement is, “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. …But love will last forever!” 1 Corinthians 13:7,8b
Love Will Last –
We intend it, feel it, and speak it, but we must admit that our human love for others falls short of these standards. Even the best of our relationships falls far short of these ideals. Remember, God is Love, and His Love absolutely does measure up! His Love for His chosen, adopted, and precious people will never give up, and endures forever!
When we consciously choose to accept His Love into our lives, we grow closer to, and stronger in, His perfect Love! He IS Love! He lives within us! He intends and desires that we live in Love!
Every relationship, every brief encounter, every moment, every aspect of our lives can be – “through every circumstance” – Love.
Led by Love. Eternal, God-birthed, God-filled, God-inspired, and God-empowered Love.
Not feeling it? Not experiencing it? Even doubting and disagreeing? What does this discourse in chapter 13 mean? Why build up this idea of a Love so great we can never measure up to it? Why taunt us with something we could never achieve or experience?
Is God Love? Is His Love perfect? Did He give Jesus as the full payment for our every sin, failure, and shortcoming? Is He living with each of His chosen adopted people?
Yes! And so, are we not filled with His Love?
Lord God, we admit that we don’t, and cannot love perfectly, but You do, and You will lead us into Your Perfect Love as we accept Your Love for us. We love because You first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
