Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 NLT
Pray About Everything –
Years ago, at a family reunion, I learned that my aunt had been praying for each member of our family, some 70 folks at that time, by name, each night, for many years. She prayed that we would each come to know Jesus.
I had recently experienced a radical salvation at 31. I was very grateful, and I also felt a bit too proud of my new faith! I was amazed and deeply humbled when I learned about my aunt’s consistent prayers for me and all our family. At that moment, I gained a small insight into how God’s kingdom works. Yes, He draws us, selects and chooses us, but the prayers of others soften us, prepare us to hear and respond to God’s still small voice!
Our prayer releases our hold on things, people, situations, including our own lives, and then places all this in His Loving hands, where it belongs! And then, in His perfect wisdom, timing, and plan, God acts! And he always does what is absolutely good!
My friend, there is nothing we can do for ourselves or for another person that is greater, kinder, loving, or more helpful than to pray! It is a lie to say, “Well, the least I can do is pray for you.” The Truth is, “The greatest thing I can do is to pray for you!”
Thank You, Father, for the gift of prayer! The ability to bring to You our every need and desire, and to trust You to do the absolute best in response. Help us to pray about everything.
