Today’s Encouragement is, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Romans 8:35,37 NLT
Can Anything Ever –
The answer is absolutely, “No, Nothing, Ever!”
The “anything” that threatens to separate us includes the many and familiar trials of this life. (This passage clearly refutes the idea that once you become a believer in Christ, you never have any more problems!) And despite the fact that we all experience these painful realities, as believers, we are, and remain, in overwhelming victory!
The trials of earthly life certainly threaten us, challenge, and test our faith. But we have the assurance from the Bible, which God has provided for us, that none of this can, or will ever, separate us from the Love of Jesus, our Lord!
We still choose! We can choose to focus on our troubles, suffering, and pain; too often, we blame God for it all and turn away from Him. Or we can choose to continue to focus on Him, His Love, and His Truth, and we then live in overwhelming Victory! (Even when we are still in the midst of these trials!) This Victory does not emanate from our strength or self-will; it is God’s gift for all who accept Jesus as Lord.
Thank You, Father, for clearly showing us that we can have victory over this life and its pain, through choosing to have faith in Jesus. You are so very Good to your people.
