Today’s Encouragement is, “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.” Romans 8:29-30
He Chose –
You and me! Everyone who believes and trusts in Jesus! Not just Billy Graham or Mother Teresa! Ordinary believers are all the children of God. He Chose us!
Notice the astounding blessings we are given:
God Knows us –
He Chose us –
To become like Jesus-
We are Brothers and Sisters of Jesus –
He called us to come to Him –
He gave us (no one can earn it) right-standing with Him –
He gave us His Glory!
Notice this has already happened. No mention of any future event; this doesn’t occur after death, it is now! It is a spiritual reality. Whether we sense it, feel it, or recognize it, this is Truth. God’s perspective always trumps ours!
There are so many indescribable concepts in this passage, “to become like His Son,” “called them (us) to come to Him,” and “He gave them His Glory!” We are almost in disbelief! But we choose to believe, even though we don’t see or understand. Because His ways are infinitely higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
This process, which leads us to receive His Glory, is beyond human comprehension. But it is the Truth!
Father God, we thank You for such wonderful gifts, the blessings that You have provided us. We are overwhelmed by all You have given.
