Today’s Encouragement is, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT
All Things –
This is not a platitude. It doesn’t say, “Everything works out for the best.” Nor “There’s a reason for everything that happens.” Or any similar generalization. It is a specifically directed, narrowly targeted Truth. It applies to all those who love God and are also called by God to His purpose for them.
Are some not called? I don’t know. But we do know that God has plans for His people, so presumably a purpose would be included! (See Jeremiah 29:11)
For a good part of my life, I was not a person who loved God. But, I now believe and remember specific examples where He, even at that time, was causing “everything to work together” in my life, for my good, to bring me into His family.
Is it possible that you can say the same? Can you see how the heartache, pain, and sorrows, as well as the blessings, joys, and happiness in your life have all “worked together for your good?”
Whether we see it vaguely or clearly, whether we recognize, understand, or not. God’s Word is Truth. He doesn’t change.
All things – my friend- for our good!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Thank You, Father, for blessing us so wonderfully that You have brought us into Your own family, saved us, and granted us Eternal Life!
