Today’s Encouragement is, “And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.” Romans 8:23 NLT
Wait With Eager Hope –
This is a glimpse of the eternal perspective of our lives as God’s adopted children.
Once we were lost, wandering, separated from God, slaves to our human sin nature.
But God saved us. In His perfect timing, in His wisdom, and in His plan, He moved in and into our hearts! He gave us the Holy Spirit to strengthen our human frailty, as a foretaste of future glory. Reread that: we have His Holy Spirit within us now, as an example, just a taste of the glorious future that awaits us!
Even so, we are saved, adopted as His very own children, and have His Spirit within us, still – we groan, as does all creation ( v21-22), we yearn for the time when our bodies are released from sin and suffering! And we realize the best is yet to come!
We will have new bodies, free from sin and suffering, we will have full rights as God’s adopted children, and even more! Because “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
This is our Eager Hope!
Thank You, Father, for such amazing promises, for all You have done for us, are doing within us today, and all You will do, we thank You!
