Today’s Encouragement is, “Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:20-22 NLT
Glorious Freedom –
We don’t like to think about it, but all of creation, including humankind (Genesis 2:17), and the ground (Genesis 3:17), was subjected to God’s curse when sin entered this world – at our invitation and by our actions.
God clearly told us, Don’t do this one thing… but we did it.
Consider the glorious freedom of Eden! No death, decay, pain, sorrow, suffering, Perfect Peace! Heaven!
We didn’t last long, did we?
But we now realize the Glorious Freedom from death and decay that awaits us and all of creation!
We suffer this earthly life, with all its troubles and sorrows, only “for a little while” (1 Peter 5:10), comparable to the acute pains of childbirth, but after this short but painful earthly existence, all of God’s children will experience the joy of new life, new bodies, new creation, Glorious Freedom from all evil!
My friend, one day God will bring all creation into His Glorious Freedom. We will enter it when we leave this earthly life! And all creation will be restored, reborn into God’s Glorious Freedom!
Father, strengthen our hope, grant us a glimpse of Your Glorious Freedom. Through spiritual eyes may we be blessed to see what You intended for us all along. Thank You for strengthening us until that day, Father.
