Today’s Encouragement is, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11 NLT
He Will Give Life –
The previous verse explained that Christ lives within us; now we are told that the Spirit of God lives in us! This is not a contradiction. The Truth is, both God’s Holy Spirit and Jesus live within us!
We are not believers, followers of Jesus, because we try to live right and do good to others. We are believers, followers, because we have been chosen, changed, and filled with the Holy Spirit of God. The same Spirit! The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead – gives us Life!
This is the rich, satisfying life (John 10:10), eternal life (John 6:40), promised to all who believe! Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)
This is the way of all spiritual truth; we may not realize it, sense it, or feel it, but our awareness doesn’t change reality! God’s Truth reveals reality. We can ignore it, deny it, argue against it… or accept it, embrace, and believe what God says!
Thank You Father for giving us the Truth, and so much more! You have given us the Spirit to live within us, to strengthen, guide, and give us rich, satisfying, eternal life. Help us to recognize the Truth and embrace the Spirit of God living within us!
