Today’s Encouragement is, “But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)” Romans 8:9 NLT
You are Controlled By The Spirit –
We sometimes have concepts in our minds that are close, but not accurate. For example: “God is up in heaven, or a church building, or somewhere ‘out there,’ and I’ve got to go to Him or find Him.” This verse says that the Truth is: God is with us, now already; His Holy Spirit lives IN us!
Further, this verse clearly proclaims… “You are controlled by the Spirit!” As we have previously discussed, we may not feel like it, we may not understand it, we might even disagree with it! But there’s no denying what God’s Word says!
Our human response to such a claim is often, “How is this possible? I often do things that aren’t consistent with being ‘controlled by’ God’s Spirit?” We want to try to understand logically. But God is not constrained by our human logic or thought processes, my friend. We can doubt, disagree, and deny, or we can say, in faith.
Is it possible that, if we believe God’s Truth, we begin to live in those truths? And if we doubt His Truth, then we don’t experience the reality of His Truth? What we believe influences our reality? Is it possible?
Father God, I believe, help me in my unbelief. Even when I don’t understand, I choose to believe You.
