Today’s Encouragement is, “And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans 8:2 NLT
Has Freed You –
Because we belong to Him –
A result of our belonging to Jesus is –
God’s Spirit has set us free –
We are freed from the power of sin (sin that leads to death)!
We are freed (past tense) already from the power of sin by the Power of God’s Spirit.
Sin has power, and that power of sin leads to death. The Power of God’s Spirit leads to Life!
And, because we are believers, have – already – been set free from sin’s power.
Today, we are free to live above the sin-filled world, above our own sin-controlled nature, above the power of sin, the insidious, evil power, which always leads to death.
The power of sin still exists, but we have already been set free. Others are not set free from it! Only those who believe in Jesus, who call Him Lord, and follow Him are set free. We are even free to return to sin, to surrender to its power, and allow it to control our lives – but we know- it leads to death!
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 ESV
Thank You, God, for setting us free from the power of sin. Although it may still try to entice us, it doesn’t have power over us; only Your Holy Spirit has that Power!
