Today’s Encouragement is, “And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety.” 2 Corinthians 1:11 NLT
So Many Prayers –
We can only do so much, my friends. Our own time, skills, and resources are limited. We have friends in a war-torn country; they are in danger of being killed and live under the constant threat of death. – All we can do is pray. Another friend has terminal cancer; he’s on hospice care and awaiting his death. There is nothing anyone can do for him. – All we can do is pray.
Whatever the need, the situation, or the circumstances, we often lack a single physical option to help others in need. We see the need and want to ‘do something’ to help and yet – we can’t!
May I suggest a change in language and attitude? For us as believers, our greatest gift, blessing, assistance, and demonstration of love, is Prayer!
Friends, it isn’t ‘The least that I can do is pray.’ No! Prayer is the greatest, the best, the most loving, the wisest thing we can do!
Because, when we pray for the needs of others, we’re asking God in His Wisdom and Omnipotence (unlimited power) to do what He knows is the absolute best for them; the when, the how, the who, the what – precisely what they need! What better gift could we give?
Father, thank You for the gift of prayer! That we can come at any time, ask You about anything, and rest in complete assurance that You hear, You love, You choose, that You will graciously answer ‘so many prayers.’
