Today’s Encouragement is, “But who can really build him a worthy home? Not even the highest heavens can contain him! So who am I to consider building a Temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices to him?” 2 Chronicles 2:6 NLT
A Worth Home –
God appointed Solomon to build His Temple. Yet, as he began planning, King Solomon recognized that no place on earth can contain God, not even the highest heavens.
Most of us recognize that God doesn’t live in our church buildings, or any building made by humans. But He can still meet with us there, or anywhere! He is unlimited!
The temple which Solomon built was certainly magnificent! And yet the building no longer exists. Jesus informed us that He was the temple of God (John 2:21) and then, astoundingly, He taught us that we, too, are God’s temple! (1 Corinthians 6:19)
My friend, God, including Jesus and the Holy Spirit, lives within our lives today. We may not understand it, may not feel or otherwise sense it, but Jesus clearly said it!
Other religions have also attempted to recognize this concept. God is with us! Immanuel! And His presence in us is our light, our guide, our strength. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! And He is alive today within you! And He has made His home in our hearts! (Ephesians 3:17)
Lord, we confess we do not understand this, but by faith, we choose to believe. Over our logical objections, rational analysis, and inherent skepticism, we choose to believe what You say, and Who You are! Nothing can contain You; yet You choose to Your people!
