Today’s Encouragement is, “Yes, I’m telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember my warning.” John 16:4 NLT
You Will Remember –
As Jesus spoke to His disciples on the last night of His earthly life, He warned them, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.” John 15:18 NLT
And “For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.” John 16:2 NLT
A pretty tough speech!
But Jesus wanted them to remember- and us too! To remember what He taught us! Remember who He is! Remember that He alone brings us Eternal Life. Remember that He is greater than any other power. And especially, remember that He loves us!
Remember, He told us this life wasn’t easy- “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT
Reading God’s Word helps us to remember; we go straight to the Source of Truth, and as we do, we are encouraged, strengthened, made wiser, and transformed by His power. We need to remember His Truth.
We will remember, Lord. And we will take heart, and have peace in You, because You have overcome the world!
