Today’s Encouragement is, [Jesus prayed] “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one- as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” John 17:20-21 NLT
Will All Be One –
This is a great mystery, the straightforward truth that Jesus stated, He and the Father are One, “just as you and I are one.”
Jesus is One with God, and He is God. And He prayed for us (all who will ever believe) that we will all be one, just like Jesus and the Father are one. And that you and I would be in Him! My friend, all of us who believe in Jesus (today’s verse) are IN Jesus! We are IN God! We are One with God!
We are quick to say, “Wait a minute! Are you saying we are God?” The answer is No; we are certainly not! But we are In Him! Our lives are hidden with Christ in God. We are His chosen, adopted children, and we represent Him as His ambassadors to this world.
Consider this: God Is Love (1 John 4:8). As we demonstrate God’s Love to others, we are “In Him.” We can only love others with God’s Love if we are – In Him.
Father God, that You would design such a relationship, that we would be One with You… is truly too marvelous for us to grasp. Help us, by faith, to understand that we are already, now, One with You.
