Share The Story

Today’s Encouragement is, “Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.” Psalm 145:4, 7 NLT

Share The Story –

I was blessed to be ‘raised on’ Bible stories. I don’t recall how often, but I distinctly remember being read the wonderful stories from “Hurlbert’s Story of the Bible.”

Creation, Noah and the Ark, Daniel in the lions’ den, David and Goliath, Jonah and the Whale, and in the New Testament, Jesus’ Birth, miracles, teachings, death, and resurrection – all these have the characteristics of great stories.  But they are very different from children’s tales.  The Biblical stories are all True! They happened just as written! And God’s Sovereign power is at work in each!

We can choose to forget or dismiss them as childish and so lose the blessing and opportunity of praising our God and Father, or we can reread, remember, and recount them and – Share the Story.

As adults, we might unintentionally begin to believe that the Bible stories are like fables, nursery rhymes, and only useful for entertaining children.

But my friend, we have been entrusted with what has been accurately called, the Greatest Story Ever Told!

And as the Psalm suggests – Everyone will – share the story – of Your wonderful goodness!  And they will sing with Joy! About Your Righteousness!

Thank you, Father, for the rich treasure of Your word, the amazing truth that You teach us within its pages and stories.  Help us to remember, reread, and recount, to – Share the Story – of Your wonderful goodness, throughout the ages, to your people!

I Love To Tell The Story
