Me and My Family

Today’s Encouragement is, “But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve… But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15b NLT

Me And My Family –

Joshua began to lead the nation after Moses’ death.  He was not the mighty prophet that Moses was, yet he was a very faithful man and a great leader.  Throughout his leadership, he frequently called the people to turn to God in faith.

Most of us earnestly desire that our family will be saved.  We want them to experience the blessings we have enjoyed and to have the assurance of eternal life, both now and in the life to come.  However, we cannot force this; we cannot require it or make it happen by our will. Only God can call a person to follow and serve Him. So, we pray, in faith, regardless of what our eyes may see today, that God will call them to Himself, because God is faithful.

As David spoke in Psalm 37:25, “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.”

Father God, today we release our family and all those we love to Your mercy and perfect love.  They are Yours now. We take our hands off them; we will continue to pray for and love them, but they belong to You.  We trust that You will draw each of them into a loving relationship with You in Your perfect time.  In Jesus’ Name we pray, and we trust.
