Today’s Encouragement is, “But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 NLT
By Every Word –
The clear symbolism of this verse is that the Word which God speaks is what nourishes our hearts, souls, and lives. We have to have God’s word to live!
How do we ’eat’ His words?
Of course, we must read His words, ask Him for understanding, and then apply His word to our own lives. We can remember His words, meditate on them, repeat them silently, and out loud. And most importantly, we can apply His words. Apply them to your own life, your needs, concerns, and your dreams.
Through prayer, we apply His words to our own lives. “Father, I thank you for every word that You have provided to me and for me. I thank you for the Bible record of Your words. I believe what You say, that You are the Way I should go, the path I must take, the way to everlasting life. Thank You that You are the Truth, my truth, every Truth that I need I can find in You. And I thank You that You are the Life, giving me a full, rich, meaningful, and abundant life in this world and in Your kingdom forever!”
This is applying His word to our lives; this is eating the nourishment of His Word.
Thank You, God, for the rich and abundant nourishment You have already provided us. We truly have everything we need!
