Today’s Encouragement is, “The man answered, ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ‘Right!’ Jesus told him. ‘Do this and you will live!’” Luke 10:27-28 NLT
Love The Lord –
I prayed, “I want to love You more, Lord, please help me!”
God gently and patiently replied, “Your love for me is not something that I measure by a scale or percentage. I don’t score your love for me, and I don’t compare it to the love of others. I know you perfectly, I know your heart, your capabilities, including your capacity for Love. I know that you love me. So, please rest in this, your love for me is perfect, because you are perfect.
Your perfection is the result of your trust in Jesus. He has made all of you, every aspect of your being, even your faith —absolutely, completely perfect. You cannot improve on His work, please don’t try. Trust Him to do what you cannot.
And as you rest in this truth, your love for me will grow. I will recognize it; you may or may not. It isn’t something that you can measure, and it’s not subject to any measurement … except the perfection that is only found in my Perfect Son. His Love for me, His perfect Love, was demonstrated on the cross. And my perfect Love for him (and by your faith, also for you) was perfectly demonstrated by His resurrection.
Because of Jesus, your Love for me is perfect.”
Father, we are overwhelmed by Your Love, which makes perfect every aspect of our flawed human existence.
