Today’s Encouragement is, [Jesus said,] “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'” (When he said, “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)” John 7:38-39 NLT
Living water will flow –
The concept of Living Water is explained here: “He was speaking of the Spirit.”
The Holy Spirit of God lives within us and will never leave us. When Jesus spoke of being with us always, this is what He meant, because the Holy Spirit is God, just as Jesus is God. This Holy Spirit lives within us, fills us, and overflows from our lives to the world around us. He cannot be contained or limited!
Jesus is the Light (John 1:4-5), and His Light (which lives within us) overcomes, overwhelms, and overflows the darkness!
And my friend, we are that Light! We are His presence here on earth today! And His living water, His loving grace and mercy, will fill and overflow our lives like a river. So that all may see and know that Jesus Christ is Lord! We only need to believe what God has said, trust Him and His Word, and wait for Him to guide us into all truth (John 16:13)
Father, as always, we thank You for Your Word, for teaching us Your Truth. Help us today to be so filled by Your Holy Spirit that this River of Living Water is evident to us and everyone around us!
