Today’s Encouragement is, “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NLT
You Have Already Won –
Too often, we think that the promises of God are for someday, maybe, for really good people, for the next life, etc. Too often, we miss the critical points that… We belong to God, and we have ALREADY won!
Jesus has ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING necessary for us to receive all of God’s blessings. The blessings, promises, and truths of the Bible are ALREADY ours!
This verse proclaims these truths, as believers in Christ:
- You belong to God—now, no qualifiers, no limitations. It is Truth!
- Already – not someday, not if you try hard enough, not if you are a ‘good enough believer’!
- Won a Victory – because we trust in Jesus, who is Always and Eternally Victorious, we have already won the victory over anything and everything, because God’s Spirit in us is greater than anything!
Don’t feel it? Don’t see the results? Doesn’t seem to be true in your life? Not sensing the victory? Remember, we live by Faith in God, what He says and promises us in His Word. We do not live by what we see, what we feel, what our logical minds tell us, or what our limited emotions or feelings reveal. We live by Faith! Trusting in what God says, not in what we feel!
And he says, ‘You Have Already Won!’
Thank you, Father, for the fantastic and overwhelming gifts You have given us, the promises You have fulfilled and are still fulfilling in us. Please help us be grateful!
