Removed Our Sins

Today’s Encouragement is, “For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:11-12

Removed Our Sins –

We have an innate sense of justice.  We inherently sense that Bad should be rejected, punished, and banished.  Only Good should be treated kindly, cared for, and loved.  We respond with shock and denial when the unworthy is treated kindly, with mercy and forgiveness!  Our hearts cry out!  “No Fair!” Affirming our deepest belief in this sense of justice!

God’s justice is perfect. Just as His love is perfect.  He has meticulously, carefully, and thoroughly explained Himself to us through the book He provided for us so that we can see His nature clearly and then see our own nature, in distinct contrast to His perfection.

And in His perfect Justice, flowing from His Perfect Love, “He has removed our sins!”

We naturally question this.  We recognize that we are sinful creatures and, therefore, deserve punishment, yet we face this dilemma. Although we realize that we do not deserve any forgiveness, we also acknowledge that we desperately need this merciful grace!  And only God’s “unfailing love” can provide the freedom we desire.

So, because He loves us dearly (John 16:27), “He has removed our sins … as far as the east is from west!”

Father, help us to accept the gift of Your Love and Grace. We don’t deserve it, no one ever can, but we choose to humbly accept and then to rejoice in Your Love and Grace!

The Lord is Gracious and Compassionate
