Overflowed With Compassion

Today’s Encouragement is, “A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. ‘Don’t cry!’ he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. ‘Young man,’ he said, ‘I tell you, get up.’” Luke 7:12-14 NLT

Overflowed With Compassion –

Notice anything?  No one asked Him!  No one prayed, no one cried out, no one held any hope for this dead man. His grieving mother was absolutely hopeless, no husband, no son; she was completely alone.

Until Jesus. And in His compassion (limitless, perfect, unimaginable by human standards), Jesus restored her son, her hope, and gave protection and provision to this brokenhearted mother.

Jesus saw her need, and met it, because He has compassion, He overflowed with godly Compassion for this one lonely, devastated heart.

He still does.  He still overflows with compassion for you and me.  Meeting our needs before we even ask. Hearing every cry of our devastated hearts, without words.

This is our God. He loves us!

Lord, Our God and Father, thank You for Your immeasurable compassion for us.  Your kindness and love are far beyond our comprehension, yet You have shown us so many examples in Your Word.  Help us to trust You completely.

This is Our God
