Today’s Encouragement is, “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11 NLT
Your Word In My Heart –
I confess, I began with envy. I envied those who knew God’s Word and could easily quote it accurately. I wanted to be like that. My motivation was ego, but God is merciful. After years, my motivation has changed. I now want His Word to be hidden deeply in my heart, not only my mind, so that He can help me to avoid sin.
This is God’s Word, not mine!
When we take hold of, memorize, believe, choose to trust, accept, and cling to His Word, we are transformed. We grow to become stronger, more aware, wiser, and kinder, more loving human beings.
Try it with your favorite scripture. What? You don’t have a favorite verse? Get yourself one! Find it, memorize it, and hide it in your heart!
Then, like a seed in good soil,
It will put out roots and grow and produce more good seeds and good fruit in all areas of your life.
“But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” Psalm 1:2-3
All this from one seed of God’s word, planted in your life – hidden in your heart.
Thank You, Our Father, for the gift of Jesus, Your Word! We need Your Word to be planted deeply within our lives, growing, filling, and transforming us. Help us pursue You!
