Today’s Encouragement is, “With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.” Psalm 86:12-13 NLT
With All My Heart –
At times, we may say this, “with all my heart,” too often, flippantly, or even insincerely. We may express this to those we genuinely love and care about, and perhaps we even reveal this depth of devotion, desire, and intense love for God.
This expression implies the most complete, thorough, total dedication of one’s emotions, intentions, and desires. It is a high standard for our Praise, and also for our Love of God.
The scripture tells us that, to love the Lord our God – with all our heart is God’s greatest instruction, His commandment, His highest wisdom for us… to love Him First and Above everything else that exists! (Matthew 22:37) And completely! With “all our heart” devoted to Him. This means there is nothing left, no aspect of our love and adoration available for anyone or anything but God! All means All! A very high standard!
Our Father, we confess that we don’t know how to praise You or to love You with all our heart. We are constantly distracted from our focus on You. Thank You, that our every shortcoming, even this, is fulfilled, completed, and made whole by our faith in the grace of Jesus our Lord! Help us to love You and praise You with our absolute best!
