Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
Let God –
Ever notice how often we are told to “let”?
Here are a few more:
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)
It encompasses surrender, allowing God to guide, rule, arrange, direct, and control us in every aspect of our lives. Can He? Of course! He can do anything! Will He? Of course! We are counseled, instructed, and repeatedly advised to surrender, submit, allow, and LET Him be Lord and King of our lives; to LET Him be our God.
As in today’s verse… Let God transform you into a new person! He does this by changing the way we think! We have the ‘power’ to choose to LET Him or not to let Him. This is individual freedom of choice that God has given to every human being to decide whether to surrender to Him (to LET Him be our God) or to go our own way. There is no other choice!
And in His incredible Mercy and Love. He is always ready to step in, at our invitation. Whenever we choose to LET Him, He takes over, transforming us by renewing our minds and making us NEW!
Father, we are still amazed at what You allow us to do! Help us to Let You be God, and to rule our lives. Have Your Way, Lord.
