Today’s Encouragement is, “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:14 NLT
Being Made Holy –
By the one perfect and final offering, the death of Jesus, He made us perfect – already. It’s a done deal! Jesus alone could do this, and He already has! By His death on the cross, the grave, the resurrection… we are already, now – made perfect!
Don’t feel it or see it? Do your senses, does your perception negate God’s Truth? We accept God’s Truth because He says it, even when our senses or logical reasoning (limited, human, and imperfect) cannot grasp the Truth. Our spiritual being can believe regardless of the sight or understanding of our humanity.
And because of this truth, we are also being made holy! We are in progress toward holiness! Never arriving at holiness until we leave this earthly life and begin the next step of our eternal lives. Yet on the journey of holiness. We are “being made holy!”
Holiness can be defined as the absence of sin and the simultaneous presence of godliness. We cannot become holy without God’s power and presence living within us. It is impossible to do this in our own strength and willpower.
Please reread today’s verse… We are being made holy… it is God, working in our lives, guiding, directing, teaching us to live in His ways! He is making us Holy! Not our effort, but His! Our part is to accept His work within us, to ask, seek, and knock. (Matthew 7:8)
Father, once again, we are amazed that You have made us perfect through Jesus and that You now work within us to make us holy! You are amazing!
