Be Still and Know

Today’s Encouragement is, “Be still, and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10a NLT

Be still and know –

Our Faith in God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is a gift from God.  This Faith doesn’t depend upon our feelings, abilities, senses, intelligence, status, or emotions.  It comes from Him, based on His gift and our knowing. We know God through His Creation and His Word.  We choose to believe and accept what He has said to us in His Word.

Please hear this.  Our feelings, emotions, and senses are not the issue!  Too often, we expect God’s Presence to cause us to ‘feel’ differently, to have some emotional or physical sensation to assure us that He is with us.

God doesn’t do magic tricks! He doesn’t have some ‘special signal’ that induces a certain feeling in us to prove that He is always with us.

He has told us that He is! We either accept, trust, and believe Him, or we waiver in uncertainty, stumbling from faith to doubt and back, with our emotions and feelings mercilessly controlling our hearts, minds, and bodies.

We choose.  To believe His Word or not.

There may be times when we can sense God’s Presence, and it is always a tremendous blessing to experience, but God is infinitely creative. He interacts with His dearly loved people however He chooses.

And He has told us, “I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20)

Father God, help us be still and know that You are God and that You are always with us. We pray in Jesus’ Name.
