Today’s Encouragement is, “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1a NLT
His Children –
What do you desire for your children? Perhaps they will be confident, hopeful, helpful, kind, caring, successful, courageous, bold, and wise.
When they are young, you want to teach them well, help them develop these characteristics, and see them grow into healthy, well-adjusted, competent adults.
Right? Doesn’t everyone?
Now consider, for a moment, God as the Perfect Father and yourself as His dearly loved child. Jesus taught us to recognize God as ‘Our Father.’ We often pray it without thought, but it is a powerful truth!
Is it possible that this relationship isn’t limited to the first 12 years of our lives? That our entire earthly lives are spent, as children, growing, learning, failing, being forgiven and encouraged, and growing up into adulthood as mature Christians?
We often describe people as immature, those who never ‘grew up’ into what we consider adulthood. And sadly, some are spiritually immature, never considering the effect of their actions on themselves or others.
Like all good parents (God is the Perfect Father), we want our children to have real joy, peace, and contentment.
And doesn’t God want the same from us? Since He is infinitely Good, Powerful, and Wise, He even makes everything work for our good! (Romans 8:28)
We are like children for this lifetime. Because of His Love for us, God guides and teaches us perfectly throughout our lives. He makes no mistakes!
Thank You Father, that You never stop taking care of us, developing our lives and character as You desire, because of Your immeasurable Love for us.
Good Good Father
