Today’s Encouragement is, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.” Psalm 91:1-2 NLT
Live In The Shelter –
This is my very favorite psalm. It is filled with His Blessings, Protection, Love, Mercy, Kindness, Compassion, Security, Rest, Comfort, and so much more.
And all these promises and blessings are ours when we live in or dwell in His shelter. Living in His shelter and living with Him is our choice! We can ‘dwell on’ or ‘dwell in’ anything else; we have many options. Bills to be paid, our health, our weight, what to eat, what to wear, how to please another person, how to avoid another person, how to raise the kids, how to deal with this or that, the national debt, world politics, you name it – we have lots of options to dwell on!
And my friends, dwelling on or living in anything other than God’s shelter yields nothing! Only in God’s shelter, His presence, His Truth, His Peace, Grace, and Love are His promises fulfilled, and our protection, peace, and blessings far beyond all this world has to offer. To live in His shelter and rest in His shadow, we must be near Him. Like standing under His umbrella of protection, we have to be NEAR to Him!
Father, help us choose to ‘Live in Your shelter’ today and always stay near to You. You are always faithful to Your promises. We trust in You.
