But Then

Today’s Encouragement is, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.” 1 Corinthians 13:12a (NLT)

But Then –

We often think that we know exactly what’s going on! “Nobody else really understands it like I do. Yes, I’m that much smarter than everyone else! I have this all figured out!” We rarely admit this, but we often think it!

In God’s reality, the spiritual world (the world of our relationship with Him), His Kingdom… this idea finally becomes reality!

Friends, we see things now “imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror!” We aren’t supposed to understand! Our human abilities, understanding, logic, and intelligence are limited, finite, and imperfect!

God’s thoughts and His ways are infinitely higher than ours! (Isaiah 55:8-9)

But then! When we graduate from this earthly, temporary existence into the real, eternal world, “we will see everything with perfect clarity!”

Like the ultimate “Aha! Moment,”

Then. Everything. Will. Be. Perfectly. Clear!

Having a reasonably clear vision or perspective of our future is wise. This is the abundant life (John 10:10) awaiting us after we spend a few milliseconds of our eternity on this earth.

But Then, the troubles of this life, our confusion, questioning, doubts, and worries, will completely fade away, and we will see and understand everything with perfect clarity!

Father, thank You for explaining that our limited minds, imaginations, and understanding cannot comprehend You or Your Eternity.  Yet You have graciously given us glimpses of both! Strengthen our faith in what You have revealed and open our hearts to what You will reveal.

No Eye Has Seen
