Today’s Encouragement is, “But he [God] said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9a ESV
God’s Grace is Sufficient.
Need healing? God’s Grace is Sufficient.
Need hope? God’s Grace is Sufficient.
Need strength? God’s Grace is Sufficient.
Whatever we need, whatever we ask for, whatever we lack or desire…
God’s Grace is Sufficient.
Grace is defined most simply as God’s unmerited favor.
Unmerited- We don’t and can’t deserve it at all.
Favor – He loves us; we are His own children, so He favors us like we favor our kids and grandkids!
This is Grace. God’s unmerited favor is sufficient for us. It is adequate and complete in every way. When Paul heard this response from God, he did not receive what he was asking and even pleading for. He asked that the ‘thorn in his flesh’ whatever painful sin that was (v7) would be removed. He pleaded with God three times, yet God said, “No.” God explained that Paul was allowed this suffering to demonstrate that God’s Power is made perfect in weakness.
Friend, we will never be free from our need for God’s grace. Our weaknesses are His opportunities to demonstrate His all-sufficient Grace.
Father, we need You! We need Your Grace. We are not strong, independent, self-sufficient people. We are just sheep who try to do what we know is right, but we often fall short. Thank You that Your Grace is more than sufficient to make up for our every lack, our every need, our every failure. You are so very Good, Father!
Your Grace is Enough
