Today’s Encouragement is “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.”

Living In The Light –
God is Light! No darkness in Him! The best place for us to live is in the Light! We can choose to continue to live in spiritual darkness, and we know that is slavery, bondage, and it earns death for us (Romans 3:23), or, because of the Grace of God, we can choose to live In His Light!
Living in the Light requires honesty, visibility, truth, and vulnerability. Because of this, faith, trust, and confidence are also needed. As we confess our sin, we bring our darkness into His Light. We weaken sin’s power and darkness when we bring it, through honesty and confession, into the brilliant rays of God’s Light.
Consider the effect of one tiny candle in a darkened room. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5)
Another example is that plants cannot grow without light. And neither can we grow, thrive, or mature without His Light!
Father God, we thank You for Your Light! You overcome the darkness of our hearts with the brilliant, warm, penetrating Light of Your Presence. Help us choose to return to Your Light and remain!
