Every Creature –
“Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. And they sang in a mighty chorus: ” Revelation 5:11-12a NLT
Worship. We have distorted and misused the word’s true meaning. It’s not sitting in a church somewhere listening to someone sing, preach, or even read the Bible. It is focusing our entire being, mind, heart, spirit, and soul on God.
In Revelation, the worship of God is revealed in glorious detail yet still limited by mere words. In chapters 4-5, the throne of God in heaven is described, and the worship of God by all of Heaven, innumerable people, angels, and even all creatures, giving wholehearted, eternal Worship to God! “Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’” (v4:8).
Revelation’s words are inadequate, this devotional too short, and even this wonderful worship song cannot fully convey the experience, power, glory, and eternal wonder of worshipping God in His presence… along with every creature… eternally singing. “Holy!”
Thank You, Father, for allowing us this glimpse of eternity, Your Presence, and true worship. Help us come to You in such true worship today, as best we can, limited by our humanity yet drawn by Your Divinity. You are Holy Forever!
